The multilingual Premier and diplomat extraordinaire with the cool eyebrows that commands quasi-unanimous love and respect in and out of China spent a lot of time between these walls in the days of the Second United Front, right before the Civil War broke out.

The visit is alright, although not exactly something to plan your day around. What is worth your time, however, is the walking options around the house. We recommend you go down the street, all the way to Lianglukou, stopping for a drink at the quiet wine bar around the Disciplinary Commission and ending your journey at Dongtingxian Hotpot for a true Chongqing experience.
